Insolvency Department celebrates 20 years

In 1990 we saw many influential events including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope and the start of the World Wide Web. Another pivotal event that perhaps did not receive the same level of publicity occurred on August 1st 1990: Clive Everitt launched what was to grow into one of the most respected teams of business recovery and personal debt experts in Oxfordshire.

Clive is a licensed insolvency practitioner and a qualified rescue diver, both are talents which enable him to help his clients to stay afloat. With achievements such as being a guest speaker on Radio 4, lecturing for the ACCA and having a recent high-profile case referred to as “one of the most important cases that a trustee should arm himself with”, Clive, along with his team of experts, has a genuine passion for helping people out of deep water when they see no other possible options.

The team believe that taking action against delinquent directors and debtors who have or who attempt to deliberately partake in fraudulent activity, is equally as rewarding as helping genuine cases. “One of my first clients still announces himself as ‘the Yum Yum man’ as he paid for most of our meetings by bringing in Yum Yums to go with a cup of tea” says Clive. “We saved him from bankruptcy after a property deal had gone wrong, which was an extremely satisfying result for my colleagues and I.”
