With over 8 years of accountancy and finance experience, Darren qualified as an accountant whilst working at Grant Thornton, before spending 4 years in charge of finance for a group of rapidly growing companies.  Prior to entering the accountancy profession he trained and worked as an Operations Manager for Royal Mail; adding to the breadth of his commercial experience.

His current specialisms are accounts and business services where, beyond the preparation of statutory accounts, his aim is to identify areas where Shaw Gibbs can add value to a clients’ business by offering objective business and strategic advice. Working alongside the Audit & Accounts Partners, Darren is a key point of contact for clients, assisting with ‘day to day’ issues and accountancy support. Darren particularly enjoys working with SMEs whose management team have a clear vision for their business, and takes great pride in understanding and helping clients to achieve their ambitions.

Darren enjoys keeping active and can be found often walking in the hills with his dog or on his mountain bike.  He took part in the 2008 London marathon, completing the course in three hours 57 minutes.
