Heading up the corporate finance team at Shaw Gibbs is Peter O’Connell.  Focusing mainly on owner managed businesses and their principals, he works across a wide range of sectors, from precision engineering to food and beverage.  Transactions have included business disposals (to UK and overseas purchasers), management buy out of business divisions and acquisitions of UK and overseas businesses.

He also works closely with banks, venture capital organisations and businesses, undertaking due diligence investigations and business valuations, and has acted as an expert witness for a number of clients in business valuations.

Peter says he finds working with owner managed businesses very rewarding and enjoys the challenges that come with advising on areas such as strategy, taxation, negotiation tactics and commercial considerations.  He believes the strength and depth of the Shaw Gibbs offering can provide clients with a truly comprehensive service across all areas.

Peter is a keen rugby fan and is closely involved with his local rugby club. He also enjoys skiing and during the winter takes to the slopes of Austria.
