Steve is an audit specialist and he acts as audit partner within the firm. With 20 years’ experience, he specialises in advising on issues such as business development, tax, accounting and employee matters. He helps clients to understand their business and personal objectives, along with reaching satisfactory solutions that take into account any tax implications.

Steve works with clients within his portfolio, as well as some fellow partners’ clients, across of a range of sectors, but he has particular experience and expertise in working with ‘technology’ related businesses in areas such as telecoms, I.T., green energy and bioscience. He has a strong technology related network of contacts including the local academic and professional communities.

A technology fan, Steve ensures that the Shaw Gibbs audit team uses a paperless office approach to its work and is always looking for ways in which technology can help maximise revenue and efficiency both in house and for clients.

A keen advocate of the team approach, he ensures that if clients need advice on other specialist areas, they are introduced to colleagues who can provide the support and high levels of service they require.

Whenever he has the opportunity, Steve enjoys walking in the Lake District, and while closer to home, he is chairman of his local amateur dramatic group and can be found taking to the stage twice a year.
