Accounts Assistant

Despite lockdown, it is very much business as usual for Shaw Gibbs. We have an ambitious growth plan and are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Compliance division. This role will be based in our Oxford team and could be full time or part time. Flexible working is also available.

At present, most of our people are doing blended working whereby they are spending part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. Both our offices are fully covid secure and the safety of our people, our clients and their families remains our top priority.

Key responsibilities 

  •  Building productive working relationships with clients and within Shaw Gibbs
  • Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients 
  •  Maintaining client confidentiality and ensuring data security at all times 
  • Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader accounts 
  • Preparing partnership accounts

About You

You must have at least 18 months’ experience working in a UK accountancy practice.

 You will also have:

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent 
  • AAT qualified or part qualified
  • Medical practice experience would be an advantage 
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Strong IT skills and able to pick up new software packages very quickly 
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude 
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
  • CCH experience would be an advantage
