Accounts Junior – Oxford or London + Flexible Working

We have an ambitious growth plan and are currently looking for an Accounts Junior to join our Compliance division. This role will be based in either our Oxford or London office. A full-time permanent position offering hybrid working, four days in the office and one day working at home, and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days). 

Key responsibilities 

  • Building productive working relationships with clients and within Shaw Gibbs 
  • Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients 
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and ensuring data security at all times 
  • Producing financial accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 as well as sole trader and partnership accounts 
  • Preparation of working papers/control accounts from incomplete accounting records 
  • Drafting corporation tax computations 
  • Help trainees with finalisations, including submission of accounts to Companies House and Charities Commission where applicable, and corporation tax returns to HMRC 
  • Helping trainees develop their basis skills and knowledge of CCH and any other area as appropriate

About You 

You must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a UK accountancy practice. You will also be able to meet the below requirements: 

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent 
  • AAT or ACCA part qualified 
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Strong IT skills and able to pick up new software packages very quickly 
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude 
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated 
  • CCH experience would be an advantage
