Company Secretarial Assistant – PART TIME

We provide flexible company secretarial assistance to all types of companies. Our services range from basic statutory compliance to advising on company law and corporate governance and we can help both UK and international companies establish and maintain best practice corporate governance policies and systems. 

We need a Company Secretarial Assistant to join us and maintain a first-class service, through the provision of company secretarial administrative support and best practice. This will broadly include the maintenance of statutory records of client companies, coordinating the preparation and filing of statutory forms and returns at Companies House, and other administrative tasks required to ensure clients meet their statutory and regulatory compliance obligations. 

This position would ideally suit someone looking for a part-time role at 20-25 hours per week. Based in either our Oxford or London office, we offer hybrid and flexible working options (flexing your hours on different days). 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining statutory records using Inform Direct
  • Preparation of paperwork for change of directors and addresses, PSC updates, share transfers and allotments, share reorganisations, changes of name, change of ARD, dividends and other technical areas of company secretarial work.
  • Company incorporations and post-incorporation paperwork including VAT registration and CT41G
  • Striking off companies
  • Managing preparation of CS01 and PSC registers to ensure prompt submission
  • Chasing clients for overdue CS01s
  • Sending stock transfer forms for Stamping with HMRC as necessary and calculating the Stamp Duty due.
  • Preparation of dormant accounts
  • Re-registrations, registration of overseas branches, administrative restoration
  • Legalisation of documents for use overseas
  • System maintenance such as downloading of new companies, archiving historic records on Inform Direct
  • Issue of stat records when clients leave 
  • Assistance with Department post, e-reminders etc.
  • Dealing with correspondence sent to our address as the Company’s registered office

About You


  •  Ideally previous experience within a company secretarial position/department 
  • ICSA part-qualified preferable
  • An understanding of Companies Act and PSC legislation
  • Working knowledge of Inform Direct desirable
  • A well-organised approach to work, with the ability to prioritise work and to work well under pressure
  • Resilient, able to work under pressure, cope with varying workloads, urgent projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer focus & high level of attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
