Corporate Tax Consultant - Oxford office

We are experiencing growth both in our London and Oxford offices and are now looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Tax Consultant into our Oxford office to support the expansion of the business.

The Role

The Corporate Tax Consultant role will service a wide variety of personal and business clients. You will be encouraged to attend client meetings and have regular contact with clients to help strengthen the relationship and to ensure that clients are receiving the full range of services the firm offers. You will become part of our specialist team, working with interesting clients from different industry sectors such as property, advertising and PR, and these will include sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and groups. 

Your key responsibilities:

  • Be involved in provision of advice (depending on experience) and managing day-to-day client interaction which could include Group Re-Organisations and Restructurings, Incorporations, International Tax, Income Extraction, R&D claims and EMI and EIS schemes
  • Work closely with our Directors and Managers to ensure our UK and international clients structure their affairs tax efficiently
  • Prepare more complex corporation tax computations and returns, calculating tax liabilities and advising clients accordingly
  • Review tax returns and accompanying workings drafted by more junior staff and members of the Business Services team
  • Develop client relationships and act as point of contact for client queries to become the trusted business advisor
  • Identify opportunities to increase our client base and develop cross division working opportunities
  • Assist with marketing and business development activities
  • Ad-hoc projects including technical research

About you

To be considered for this new position, you must be able to tick all of the below:

A minimum two years’ relevant experience working within a corporate tax practice environment

  • ATT qualified
  • CTA qualified would be advantageous
  • ACA or ACCA qualified would be advantageous
  • Experience of managing your own client portfolio
  • Ability to advise both individuals and businesses on current tax affairs
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to multitask and produce high quality work in tight timeframes
  • A team player with a confident, positive, can-do attitude and professional manner
