Junior Insolvency Case Administrator – Oxford + Flexible Working

Are you an Insolvency Case Administrator looking for greater autonomy and career progression in a nurturing and growing specialist firm? 

If so, we could have the perfect role for you. We are Shaw Gibbs, a Top 100 accountancy, financial planning and insolvency practice with offices in Oxford and London’s West End. Our Insolvency and Advisory team help guide businesses and individuals through periods of financial difficulty and deal with both formal and informal insolvency solutions. We work with businesses and individuals of all types and sizes, from small sole traders and owner managed business to national charities. 

Due to an internal move, we have a vacancy for a Junior Insolvency Case Administrator to join our talented team. This position is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded insolvency practice where you will get plenty of varied and interesting case work as well as career progression and training support to develop technically.

This is a full time, permanent role based out of our Oxford office. We have a great flexible working policy that allows you to work when you want to around core hours as well as hybrid working with up to two days working from home (Covid restrictions dependant). 

Become part of our Insolvency Team 

The Role 

You will be responsible for a varied case load and will provide support to the two Insolvency Practitioners. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with solvent and insolvent liquidations
  • Supporting a portfolio of cases from appointment to closure, ensuring all aspects of cases are progressed efficiently and effectively
  • Preparing and implementing case strategy, with support
  • Preparing statutory reports
  • Convening decision procedures
  • Ensuring all cases are compliant in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Drafting reports and attending meetings
  • Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
  • Liaising with clients/directors/creditors/employees/agents
  • Supporting senior members of the team with case related tasks
  • Supporting the team during periods of high workload with admin tasks such as setting up meetings
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications

Your experience

You will have at least 2 years insolvency practice experience in a similar role and proven track record of successfully supporting cases from appointment to closure. Ideally, but not essential, you could be studying towards AAT/ACCA/CPI, we may be able to contribute towards any payback clauses you have with your current employer.

  • Able to produce high quality, detailed and accurate work, often under tight timeframes
  • Self-sufficient, with the ability to plan and manage your own workload
  • A sound knowledge of IPS
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and be self-motivated
  • A proactive approach, prepared to go the extra mile • Create a positive impact with clients and staff
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including excel, word, outlook & PowerPoint
  • Experience of a paperless work environment would be an advantage
