Newly Qualified Insolvency Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an ambitious newly qualified Insolvency Practitioner to join the Corporate Recovery/Insolvency division. There are 2 Insolvency Practitioners at present in the division and we are looking to progress and develop a newly qualified Insolvency Practitioner into becoming an office holder in the longer term.

Reporting to the Insolvency Director, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of cases in various size and complexity. The cases will consist of Administrations, Liquidations (CVL, MVL, Compulsories), Voluntary Arrangements, Bankruptcies and consultancy assignments.
  • Progressing cases effectively and efficiently
  • Providing regular progress updates to the office holders
  • Taking an active role in marketing and business development
  • Conducting case investigations
  • Handling initial new telephone enquiries and attending at initial meetings with Directors, Individuals and other parties advising on options available
  • Preparing proposals for voluntary arrangements
  • Attending clients’ site to secure the premises and/or assets where necessary
  • Liaising with Directors, debtors and creditors
  • Preparing statement of affairs and estimated outcome statements
  • Handling case queries from creditors

We are looking for a JIEB qualified experienced Insolvency professional with experience of both corporate and personal insolvency. Ideally, you will also have qualified as an accountant. You will have a good commercial understanding along with strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills are also key. This role will provide the successful candidate with a base from which to build strong market presence in our chosen geographical areas and will suit an individual looking to build a career in a medium size practice as a general practitioner with the insolvency and corporate recovery sector.

We are flexible on where you are based – you can be based in either of our two offices but regular attendance will be required in both offices and along with a willingness to develop the Shaw Gibbs brand and presence in both geographical areas.
