We are currently looking for an Outsourcing Trainee to join our rapidly growing Outsourcing division in our Oxford office. This is a full-time permanent position.

The Role 

This is a Trainee position and full training and support will be given to develop your skills and abilities for a long-term career within our practice. Your key responsibilities would include the below:

  • Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on the job training and formal qualifications
  • Using accounting software to help prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices and reconciling the bank account
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships
  • Producing profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
  • Preparing basic tax computations and returns e.g. corporation tax, VAT
  • Preparing confirmation statements and filing at Companies House.
  • Helping to prepare statutory accounts and finalize accounts under the overall supervision of your Line Manager 
About You 

We would like to hear from you if you are a quick learner and can tick all of the below:
  • Are educated to A ‘Level (or equivalent standard) or higher e.g. degree
  • If you are a school leaver – you must have a minimum of 3 A Levels at grades B, B, C or better • Strong aptitude for IT, specifically Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven communication skills, verbal and written
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
  • Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies
  • Relevant work experience would be great but not essential
