Temporary Part Time HR Assistant (25–30hrs/wk)

If so, we could have the perfect role for you. We are Shaw Gibbs, a leading independent accountancy, financial services and insolvency practice with offices in London and Oxford. We are currently recruiting for a part time HR Assistant to join us for a 3 month period starting in June. You will be working alongside our HR Manager to provide a wide range of HR services.

Based in our Oxford office, with possible occasional travel to our London office, this is a great opportunity to develop your HR knowledge and skills within a professional services company.

About You

We would like to hear from you if you are either:

  • An experienced HR assistant who has performed a very similar role before, or
  • A graduate with an HR related degree and some HR work experience

You must also demonstrate the following:

  • Highly organised & able to multi-task
  • A great team player & able to use own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism & respect for confidentiality
  • Adept at problem solving
  • A can-do attitude
  • Have an aptitude for IT
  • Up to date employment law knowledge
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels within a company

The Role

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for processing and booking all training requests as well as monitoring budget spend
  • Assist the HR Manager with recruitment activities including sifting CVs, organising interviews, creating offer paperwork and collecting references
  • Monitor absence levels including holiday request and sickness absence, administering the Return to Work procedure and supporting managers when necessary
  • Write employee letters & keep all HR files up to date
  • Assist with monthly HR reporting & statistics
  • Provide professional advice & support to employees on HR procedures
  • Provide support on ad hoc HR projects
