At the heart of every business is a finance function, whether you’re a business just starting out or have been in business for many years it’s the critical function that pumps reliable data to other business areas to ensure they remain healthy.
It is always good practice to document your finance policies and procedures, these will often be used as reference points, to gain recognised accreditation and can also be fundamental when a business stakeholder is planning their exit strategy or looking for investment.
At Shaw Gibbs our Outsourcing team have many years’ experience in both practice and industry finance teams where we have been instrumental in reviewing and documenting finance policies and procedures. Acting as your independent review consultants, with a fresh pair of eyes we can review your existing policies, formally document these and make recommendations specific to your business and requirements.
For example, an area we have enhanced our client’s business is by documenting a finance ‘How to’ guide which covered step-by-step details of how to capture and record transactions in their finance system. They have found this guide to be invaluable as their business has grown and made new acquisitions.
