Area of expertise:

Advising companies and individuals on both formal insolvency procedures and informal negotiations; members voluntary liquidations; deceased insolvent estates.

Hayley joined Shaw Gibbs in 1996 and qualified as one of the youngest Insolvency Practitioners in 1998. Previously at KPMG, she has 25 years’ experience in both Corporate and Personal Insolvency and Restructuring work including; Administrations, Creditors Voluntary and Compulsory Liquidations, Bankruptcy and Individual/Company Voluntary Arrangements. She also acts on behalf of clients with debt related issues to negotiate informal settlement agreements with third parties. Hayley is licensed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA) to act as an Insolvency Practitioner, which allows her to hold insolvency appointments in relation to companies, individuals and partnerships.

The majority of the time Hayley works with SME's and as a director of Shaw Gibbs, she understands the challenges of running a business and therefore is able to empathise with clients whilst working with them to find the best solutions to the issues they may be facing.

Hayley also specialises in assisting Executors and family members with Deceased Insolvent Estates looking at formal and informal solutions and has given number of presentations to Solicitors and STEP on this subject.

She deals with Members Voluntary Liquidations (winding up of a solvent company) and works closely with shareholders and their tax advisors who are looking to sell/retire to help them plan and extract their funds in the most tax efficient way.

If you have any Insolvency or related issues please contact Hayley for a free consultation either on the telephone or at one of our offices in Oxford or west London where she will be able to assist and advice on the options available.

Outside of work Hayley enjoys spending time with her (almost teenage) children and dog, getting out in the country or by the sea as much as possible, and renovating her house.
