Things have a way of coming together for Letitia McGuigan. Growing up in St. Louis, she left for Massachusetts, where she attended Williams College, leaving with a degree in Economics and Literary Studies. To this day it is her home away from home. After school, she worked for Travelers Group as it merged with Citibank. After witnessing the frying pan that usually becomes a merger, she jumped into the fire that is law school at Temple University School of Law. However, it was there that she discovered tax law and found that she really liked it. But alas, no tax jobs were available upon graduation, so she worked for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Tort Litigation Section.
She eventually moved back to St. Louis with her kid and had her own practice specializing in Elder Law. During this time, she met her eventual husband – a British man who makes beer for a living, and who happened to be in town to work in in the American brewing industry for a couple months. Finally Letitia got her tax job, but she then had to move to Kansas City and become an advisor at H&R Block’s newly formed Expat Tax group, which served US expats all over the world. She ultimately became responsible for training new hires in US expat tax every year, as well as the larger team in more advanced topics and updating them on tax developments.
In January 2023, she and her family moved to the UK upon a job offer as a US Tax Manager with the US/UK Private Client Tax team at PwC. Afterwards, Letitia happily joined Sestini and Co. December 2024 as a US Tax Manager. She’s thrilled to keep working in US expat tax in a compliance and advisory capacity and is excited to be part of a growing firm with so many opportunities.
When not working, Letitia likes to play trivia and explore pubs and restaurants with her husband, watch movies, play golf very badly with her teen, and tame the family dog and cat. Traveling with all 4 of them has led to fun adventures. She’s also an avid sewist and knitter, and having people over for dinner is a great pleasure.
