Phil is a Partner who provides a full tax planning service to a wide range of clients, most often in the owner managed space. His passion is getting to know his clients, their interests, and their families to enable him to provide a complete, friendly, and relevant tax planning service to them. Particular areas of interest include Trusts, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and efficient business structuring although Phil’s broad experience over the years has lead to much diversity in his practical advisory work, covering all client types from sole traders to multi-company groups.

Phil started his career with a top 10 firm as a fresh-faced school leaver long ago, passing his tax exams first time to become a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1993. After stints in various offices, including their National Tax Team, to gain a broad experience in tax, Phil moved to a top 40 firm as a tax partner in 2014. Phil joined the DNG team (now part of the Shaw Gibbs Group)  in 2022.

Phil enjoys football (watching his children play these days rather than play himself), biking and running, as well as undertaking many DIY projects around the home. He also enjoys getting out and about with his wife and their two dogs.
